BLACK HISTORY MONTH

In honor of Black History Month, the 5th graders are each researching the life of a prominent black American who has made a deep and lasting impact on the world. Some of the profiles include John Lewis, Michelle Obama, Malcolm X, and Sojourner Truth. The students will then design a mini-banner with facts about their subject's life and present it to the class.

The 5th graders have been hard at work making blankets for their service project, Project Linus. Project Linus was founded in 1995 to donate blankets to children going through difficult times. The 5th graders picked out their own patterns and are doing a great job fashioning these blankets for a very worthy cause.
