April 9, 2021

The fifth grade spends many of their science classes outside, exploring nature.  This week, they went on a search for lanternfly eggs. They have been learning about invasive species in science class and how the lanternfly is an invasive species that can damage PA's trees.  In the early spring, before the eggs hatch, getting rid of the egg masses helps to cut down on the lanternfly population.  The good news is, we didn't find many egg masses on HCA's campus but the ones we did find, we scraped off the trees and crushed the eggs to save the trees!
