January 15, 2021

Fifth grade had a smooth transition back to in person learning.  We've been lucky to have such beautiful weather so that we can maximize our time outdoors!

Today was an extra special day because we celebrated the birthday of our Foundress, Cornelia Connelly.  As a part of the celebration, Ms. Kathol organized a birthday get-together for middle school students where they played "Who wants to be a Cornelianaire?" and answered fun trivia questions about Cornelia.  Did you Cornelia would have been 212 years old if she were alive today?

  • January 27th - School Picture day; free dress for students (Individuals only)

  • January in Native Month where we celebrate Native People’s history and culture.  If you or someone you know would be willing to share with a class, a division, or multiple groups either in person, via zoom, or through a pre recorded clip, please email jmyers@holychildacademy.com , and we will make it as easy as possible.

  • Looking forward, February is Black history Month, and March is Women’s Month. Please email jmyers@holychildacademy.com if you have any ideas.

  • We will again be offering MS students in Grades 6-8 the opportunity to participate in the PA Media and Design competition.  For more information https://mediadesigncompetition.org/

  • Tech Girlz is offering free webinars to girls in Grades 5-8 this weekend.  Learn about podcasting, designing mobile apps, animation with python, and computer simulations. For more information https://www.techgirlz.org/techshopz/category/workshops/
